Have you ever wished you could tell your childhood self a thing or two about growing up? Would the knowledge you know now have saved you from learning things the hard way?

If you're sending completed files for a project for which you are
already contracted, I'd ask whether they have an ftp account to which
you can upload the files.

If you're sending images cold canvas, hoping they'll bother to look
at them, I'd do my best to prepare them for that arrival, register
the images first with the Copyright office, and not send anything
larger than a well compressed low-res jpeg.

No use making it too easy for them to make an unauthorized use of the file.
