I watched in amazing yesterday morning how the 1st came out and had a BIG knot in my throat when the second one came with the "souvenir" bag and started cheering with the crowd.  My wife next to me could not even speak; and my children (5 and 7) were crying of joy next to us.

Human spirit can be indomitable; and these people which are uneducated (or less educated) have shown us a way!
I'm amazed by the Chilean governement that was visionary enough not to interfere; not to play the victim card; and not proud enough to buy/rent/take the BEST help available.
Many heroes will be not even mentioned, the drillers; the people supporting the families, etc.

Sorry to drift so much OT, but these experience has touched my heart.  I guess in a way is similar to the Apollo 13 rescue that the generation before mine witnessed.

NEVER underestimate the power of the human spirit.   We can all do far more than we think we can if we have to.  Smart men, a good leader and teamwork  seems to be the answer.  One guy has far more trouble waiting for him topside than he ever had down there.

It's an amazing story. How on earth did the miners keep their sanity?
