Taking the cubism example, I had not meant that let's say only Picasso or Braque was the artist, while all the others were craftsmen. Cubism, as you said, evolved from a group of artist working, living, fighting, etc. etc. together. Also, it has a philosophy.

When you see Picasso's and Braque's paintings of the same time you see that they are nearly identical.

However, today a painter without even caring about the philosophy of a cubism, can paint a very similar picture. That new picture may even be nicer, but still what he does is craft.

You have to be able to know the craft first, to be able to create the art with it. 

On the other hand, if an artist, after creating his art after inspiration, sticks to the same type of art, and stays there for a long time, I consider him being a craftsmen, copying his own art.

I don't agree much with this distinction.  You will get great howls of
rage from crafters.  But then, some are too timid (or modest) to admit
to being artists themselves! The distinction I see if there is one has
more to do with authority. At various times a critical mass of artistic
thinking occurs that inspires many. Then, perhaps, one or several will
produce "original" works. I'm thinking of "Cubism" as an example. Of the
core originators some will become the authoritative bench mark. Most
often, though, novel rather than great ideas (the paradigmn shifters)
are seen as creative genius. This is typical of Western art. I think the
crafts of photography and traditional Asian art are similar. Formal
disciplines and love for craft do not exclude opportunities for original
vision.
