applied with lots of skill and patience.
The story goes that a family decided to have a World War 1 photo of a
family member in army uniform reprinted and coloured. Discussing the project
with the artist, the daughter asked if her father's uniform cap could be removed
in the restored photo. The artist agreed but asked 'what colour was his
hair' I can't remember was the girls reply - but surely you'll see it when you
remove his cap!
I doubt that she had black or even brunette hair.
