This issue is not as big as it may seem  Asda aka. Walmart will process film to CD within the hour making same day feedback possible. A further point is that the conduct of interesting science experiments can be complimented by the  practice of writing and  record keeping skills. With simple cameras the 'shooting diary' can be quite simple but can prepare  the ground for a habit of a lifetime.
