From March to August 1, 2009, U.S. faculty and professionals are invited
to apply for *Fulbright scholar grants at www.cies.org. For monthly updates,

newsletter.

*The Fulbright Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State's
Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, is the U.S. government's
flagship international exchange program and is supported by the people
of the United States and partner countries around the world. Since 1946,
the Fulbright Program has provided more than 286,000 participants from
over 155 countries with the opportunity to study, teach and conduct
research, to exchange ideas and contribute to finding solutions to

Fulbright Scholar Program for US Faculty and Professionals for 2010-2011
is open

The Fulbright Scholar Program offers 31 awards in lecturing, research or
combined lecturing/research in art, including three Fulbright
Distinguished Chairs.  Even better, faculty and professionals in art
also can apply for one of the 144 "All Discipline" awards open to all
fields.

What does Fulbright offer in art?  Here are a few of the awards for
2010-2011:

Sub-Saharan Africa: Award #0103 - Education, Social Sciences,
Humanities, American Studies, Professional Fields and Arts in South
Africa; Award #0072 - Fine Arts and Music in Guinea; Award #0081 -
Engineering or Fashion Design, Marketing and Merchandizing in Mauritius;
Award #0106 - Museology or Anthropology in Swaziland; Award #0079 -
Visual and Performing Arts in Mali

Western and Southern Europe: Award #0237 - NGO management and
development in the Czech Republic

Middle East and North Africa: Award #0438 - Artist in Residence and
Award #0441 - Postdoctoral Fellowships in Israel; Award #0417 - Middle
East and North Africa Regional Research Program; Award #0430 - Visual
Arts and Award #0423 - Postdoctoral Research in Egypt

Northern and Eastern Europe: Awards in cultural resource management,
landscape architecture and urban planning are featured in the Fulbright
Programs with Ukraine and Estonia. Opportunities exist in a broad range
of specializations, including arts administration, museum studies,
historic preservation, conservation, historical tourism, and
architecture.

Western Hemisphere: Award #0539 - Graphic Design in Honduras; Award#
0545 - Fulbright Border Program in Mexico

The application deadline is August 1, 2009.  U.S. citizenship is
