Dear CPA members,
Avoid
Digital Future or ShopCartUSA websites. Deal with only well known
photo companies. Every camera priced by this company Digital
Future is well below what it cost at other sites.
I think this maybe the same Brooklyn person that CBS 60 minutes showed
using bait and switch tactics in selling computers. This company skirts the
law just barely. I have included comments of others below which explain how
the scam works

ShopCArtUSA
also goes by the name Digital Futures. At least they
have the same
800-815-2155 phone number

the way things work (from personal experience) is the
following:
- The site is technically "legit" (it even looks legit)
- everything they list is lower than anywhere else (even Walmart)
- you place your order online giving them your Credit Card #
- The order is placed and you get a confirmation email
- so far so good
- a day or two later someone calls you up and says they need your
3-digit number on the back of the card "as a security measure"
- you give it to them, and they thank you
- then they mention that you might want to "add to your order" things
like memory card, flash, tripod, whatever
- if you say "yes" to any of the above, be sure to ask what price they
are charging -- it will be exhorbiant (e.g. $200 for 32Gb memory card
"especially designed just for your camera")
- if you say "no" then the next thing out of their mouth will be "ah, I
see your camara is on backorder. Might be 4-6 weeks. Do you want to cancel
your order? Or do you want to continue with it?
- Needless to say, they have no intention on selling you the camera that
you "bought" for the ridiculous price posted
- the only way you will get your camera for $xxxx is to buy $yyyy of
over-priced junk
- summary: not a "scam" per se, but rather more of a
bait-and-switch
