RE: question re: pricing disparity

Well Andy, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if it seems to good to be true it probably is.  Several of the NY camera stores are noted for advertising a rock bottom price on a camera, then adding other "fees" once you start trying to buy it.  When they finally get ready to ship, you are often paying more than a reputable source.  Google the comments on the particular source, but I would suspect you might find some unhappy people.

Now if you have that price from B&H, Adorama,Freestyle, or KEH, I have bought from all four.  Only KEH and Freestyle have  been totally problem free.  B&H has had only one problem with product and they made it right better than I would have done if I were in their shoes. I didn't feel cheated with Adorama either.  My only problem with B&H is ask a question and they are going to refer you to a website quicker than the race winning car at the Daytona 500.  Same with Adorama.  KEH is completely different.  They are more than happy to talk with you and my experience was the same with Freestyle.  I order everything I can from Freestyle & KEH, not because they have better prices than the NY outfits, not because they are cheaper, but because the first thing they ask for isn't my card number.

Hi, I am contemplating (once again) buying a Canon 5D Mark II and noticed one
place had the body listed at about $1,750 while most others were at about $2,500.
Comments? Advice?

andy
