hi karl and all!

Once I got solid that the reason that my colors did not appear properly was the scree I procceeded to open the RGB get the equivalent CMYK code from the pallette and redo the exact values in CMYK. Total success...

yay! good to hear :)

>But the guy at the Lab used common drawing paper at the plotter (grrrrrrr) and the result was poor with banding etc (though the banding must be a plotter issue)

thats bad news :(

>Now karl, regarding profiles tc, "THIS IS (SPARTA) GREECE!!!" NOONE profiles much less knows how to give you the loaded profile even if he wishes...

tht's OK - even in other parts of the world, real honest profiles that actually work are almost impossible too. you can get profiles, but they're never *quite* right. Truth be told, nothing is perfect.. especially in the world of colour management (!)

>Once and only Once I developed a profile for a particular printer's machine (through trial and error) and that was fot the colors of my excibition. Cannot afford the money, time and work to do it everytime....

Once should be enough :)

Anyway this was a wothwhile lesson and your contibution was valuable...
All the best, Kostas

glad to hear :)
