Lots of ways I could go with this but the flash is almost a must. Id also add a cord so I could use it on or off camera. Draft a pretty girl in a bikini to be a flash holder/light stand and you almost never have any trouble getting the winners attention. That being not an option, to get by with just the equipment listed, the next would be a predictable winners environment. Might be dark outside but if the presentation is always by a campfire ringed in tiki torches, the 1.4 50mm should get you by. As far as a doubler, its not a bad idea. As a compromise I might go with a 1.4x to save a stop of light with a zoom that slow. Might be ok with the 2x for most of the day, but the later the day when the event matter more, light is going to be more scarce. --- On Sat, 10/11/08, Robert Earnest <robert@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > From: Robert Earnest <robert@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Subject: Re: A challenge > To: "List for Photo/Imaging Educators - Professionals - Students" <photoforum@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Date: Saturday, October 11, 2008, 3:31 PM > I would have probably added a doubler and an on-camera flash > to the list at > least. > > And prayed for bright sun. > > R
