I shot a wedding this weekend, did the dressing candids with a Canon
580EX flash on a stand shooting through an umbrella.

As the bride didn't stand still and as the dressing area had many
nooks and crannies, I had to move my gear a bunch.

It crossed my mind that the thing that would be incredibly perfect in
a situation like this is a light stand with collapsable legs; legs
that would automatically come to the middle when I picked the stand
up then spread back out again when I put it down.

Does such a thing exist? If so, what's it called?

I was forever bumping my stand legs on doorjambs as I was moving it
about.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Lea
