Well Tim as a former Air Venture customer there are a few things to consider. When you say back at the campsite at night, you don't mention how you are camping. Electronics and tent camping usually don't work well. Condensation is really bad for computers and digital cameras, and for that matter more less anything electronic. If you are in an RV,no problem. In a tent is much more of an issue. Its more of an issue too if you happen to be there the day of the annual bad storm that hits almost every year.
You also don't mention whether the campsite has power or not. If so, Id just pick up a portable USB hard drive for a lot less than the the Epson. DVD's are a good idea as well but likely would take more time. If I were camping under the wing of an airplane, Id definitely take the time to do it. Condensation might get both hard drives. Best bet there would be inside the airplane, but even that may not be a safe as one would expect.
