(GIMP)  Release 2.4
available from http://www.gimp.org.

WOW! Seems they´ve got around to make GIMP colour managed at last! The absence of that has been one of the major obstacles in using it for serious work.

The other big obstacle has been its inability to handle 16-bit colour; I don´t know if they´ve fixed that , too. Most other flaws have been more "convenience-related", like rather slow processing of complex filters like USM, a less than intuitive interface, and problems with 3rd part actions and plugins.

Don´t think I´ll find the time to test it; I´ve already payed for Photoshop. But it´s great to see improvements; in principle I´m all for open-source (and for saving money for whisky and printer ink instead of software licenses...).
