Just to add my two cents worth if you have not seen the documentary called
Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill you might enjoy it. I know that the PBS
series Independent Lens just showed it.

An aside that Elson's photograph (Elson T. Elizaga - Among the Red Parrots)
reminded me of - I just watched the movie "Paulie" and I'd recommend it to
anyone who wants to let go of stored stress or gloom. The movie is about a
parrot - Paulie - and is great for adults as well as children.

I was amazed by the number of people and the use of animatronics and
animation (the movie is not animated in total, however) it took to create
this enchanting movie.

The film is described at http://www.petstation.com/paulie2.html
