Well, I hoped that the changing of the lenses was the reason, but then I had my tech do a thorough cleaning, of both the sensor and the camera body, and did the f22 test when the camera came back and it was clean.

Two days later, without changing lenses it had a big speck of dirt on it.

I suspect if I had a 1D Mark 2 I would not have this problem, but the 10D is not sealed against water and dust the way the highest end Canons are.

Even the 5D doesn't have waterproof seals like the ID Mark 2 and the 1Ds Mark 2.

So I need a couple grand to solve the problem, I guess.
