Here in Brevard County, Florida, it will end up costing me several hundred dollars to acquire my certification to teach, and all it would take is for me to breathe wrong and it's all out the window. It's no wonder the public education system is in such a bad state. Despite having a shortage of educators, it is a position difficult to obtain, difficult to make a living with, and apparently, difficult to keep.
