the past two pieces have simply been zone experiements with elements that stand out to me at here at home...but i have been thinking about doing a project similar to one you describe...my view camera is too cumbersome to tote around cairo so i've been thinking of doing a series here at home of discarded scenes, or spaces recently touched by people (ie, desk workspace, dining setting after breakfast, a messed bed, foggy mirror with smudge, etc...i just need motivation and film!)...i'd love to do as you indicated with my students, the only problem is my school cut our photography program...i'll have to wait until after ramadan to get a photo club going

The work you have shown in the gallery for the last two weeks is reminiscent of work that was in a book I used to have.  I believe the photographer was Morris Wright (I may be mistaken).  The series in the book was of scenes and objects found in an old home - a set of silverware spread out on a page of newspaper, a door handle, textures of paint on wood, things like that.

I really enjoyed the book and always thought the subject matter would be a good assignment for students by having them photograph a series of work without them leaving their homes.
