According to the web page, XnView appears to be a graphic viewer/browser
rather than an editor.

You might want to look at The Gimp.  This is more like PhotoShop; it is my
understanding that it was created as a PS clone by and for folks who insist
on using unix boxes, and more recently has been converted to operate on
Microsoft machines.
