Terry Please feel free to elaborate. There is indeed no penalty for using up to the maximum of 1000 words (including the half-dozen or so you used in the first post). A picture is worth a thousand words ... but not one word more. I take your point though, perhaps it should have been clearer. A description of a nicely composed picture of a key subject with an uncluttered background may itself not warrant the full 1000. Maybe people can use the spare to describe why they deserve to win?
