Not only photographic art... devoid of ANY fine art.
I put together a program that is almost the reverse of the standard way photography is taught. I only introduced f-stops and shutter speeds towards the end of the first semester.
I sent them out with cameras on auto and concentrated lectures more on light, the composition, design and the dynamics of the two-dimensional image I had to do a week on Focus and force them to use a tripod though because there were so many unsharp images. That's all fixed now. This semester I start with exposure and introduce the digital zone system.. I have had to rewrite my own text books to allow for this aproach, the problems with spoken language and the initial visual illiteracy.
