No they are contained in the program, kind of like a screen saver, when you put the CD in the drive it loads and looks like a book as you go through the book you can view the photos like they are pages, however you can use the program to make the photos go as large as your computer screen to get a good look, but if you use the encrypt function you do not have access to the photo files, you cant even make them wall paper or any thing like that, no access.
I have been using the program for over a year and I love it, it also allows you to put an expiration date on it, so after a certain date the disk wont function.

How can a picture be viewed but not be able to be copied? Is there a separate encryption key that one needs to view the images?
