Sorry I did not respond sooner but I really feel that she should try and rent or purchase a 70 200 2.8. This would be a great advantage for this type of photography. It's critical that she have the fastest lenses availabale for stage or indoor action work. The two lenses you have indicated that she will use are really ill suited to the type of work she has taken on. Yes I know that they are expensive. But the best expense for a photographer should be applied to the lenses and not to the latest body unless it's really needed. Fast glass can be had if purchased used. KEH, ebay and several others sell these lenses.
