The first thing you have to determine is how many they need to order to get a break...5, 7, 10, etc.
I give a 'holiday' price break on multiple machine copies of the same image
if ordered at the same time. Because my work is typically black and white
and because I do my own printing on an Epson 2200, the 'machine printing'
part of this is important because it allows me to save quite a lot of money
by sending the job to a lab.
I typically charge $8.00 for a 4x6 print printed on the 2200. At the
holidays I offer 100 4x6 machine prints (bw or color) for $80.00...a hugely
significant savings for my customers. For senior portraits I offer 10
wallets for $15 instead of $3 each which is what I typically charge for them
out of the 2200.
I haven't felt compelled to offer huge discounts on 5x7 and 8x10 sizes
mostly because my customers don't require it...most order only 1 or 2 8xs or
11xs of the same image. If I were to do a discount I'd do something like
full charge for the first print--$45 for an 8x then $20 for each additional
print up to 5 prints then down to $15 or $10 if they order 10 or more of
that same image.
You can do this however you like but one thing I'm always sure to do is make
it clear to the customer that you are offering them a discount. They like
that and it gives them something to tell their friends about you.
Also, be sure to stamp or sticker the backs of your prints...these multiple
copies are going out to people and you sure want the advertising.

I find my self in the same situation most of the times, not theatre people but people who are not wealthy by any stretch of the imagination. I think 10.00 for an 8x10 is about right for multiples, that's what I charge for say a class reunion.

The $10.00 is the price on the original................

I am looking for a fair tiered pricing schedule.

How much to take off when they order different quantities.
