The clue you give is "do this all the time for my work". I have used ZTREE for many years (back to at least 1993 with XtreeGold), but would hesitate to let a beginner loose with it as it can be very unforgiving if you make a mistake.
It is a very powerful program for disk management.

I do this all the time for my work. The marvel which does everything you are asking for and much much more is called ZTree www.ztree.com the shareware incarnation of XTree Gold. I cannot work without that tool on any Windows machine.
