Herschel,

If you can use the command prompt (or what old timers call the DOS commands),

xcopy dir1 dir2 /m

where dir1 is the directory or folder with the old files in it or source
dir2 is the directory or folder with newer files in it or destination
/m option only copies files whose source time is newer than the destination time.


To play for safety, perhaps copy all the files to anothe folder first,

There may be options in the windows copy commands, but I have never played around with them, as prefer to work at the basic DOS level as needed.

Is the software for windows that can compare two folders and establish which files are most recently modified. I have two folders with many of the same files . Some more recently modified. and I want to merge the two.

any help appreciated
