It sounds to me like you are not getting a good connection, it might show up 
as connected but it is possible that you still don't have a connection to 
the server, if it where me the first thing I would do is call your Internet 
Service Provider and tell them about the problem chances are the problem is 
on there end, I am assuming you're computer is not on dial up.
