I guess this is how urban legends get started.
There is a *proposed* ban on photographing in the subways. There should
be a final resolution soon.
HOWEVER, credentialed photographers are not covered by the ban. This is
very clear to anyone who has read the proposed law. And if one reads the
current rules - http://www.mta.info/nyct/rules/rules.htm
- one can easily read that photography is permitted.
It's much better not to create a web of false information.

voting to ban cameras on the NY subway system.
