For Windows Picture to Exe is really cheap and, better still, sticks one in the eye of that most evil of monopolies ;o) http://www.wnsoft.com/ It really is easy to use and (for only $24) gives you all the traditional fades etc of old slideshows together with linking the slides to music clips.
