You could also say that you thought it was a costume party and that 
all the guests would be similarly attired and equipped with cameras! 
But take a one-time use camera, not your usual gear.  A little 
umbrella (white, of course) and a cigarette (candy of course since 
most parties these days are no smoking) tray should finish off the 
outfit!
