I've had the same problem. So a few years ago I made my own correction lens for the eyepiece on my Nikon's. A fairly simple procedure, but laborious. First figure the difference between the bottom segment and the top segment of your bifocals for the appropriate eye. The go out and buy a cheap pair of reading glasses of that power, eg, +1.25? then pop out a lens and cut it down to the right shape to fit inside the eyepiece. You should then be able to focus through the top segment of your glasses.

Email me and I'll give you exact instructions.

Subject: Mature eyes.

For those of you with mature eyes, how do you manage looking through your
camera lens with your glasses on? I asked my optometrist about contacts,
but was told that since I now use bifocals that contacts would be next to
useless. My problem is that I'm loosing my long distance focal ability
and find it difficult, to say the least, to focus my camera while wearing
my glasses. What do all of you do to get around this problem? Or do you
simply deal and hope for the best?
