What size file is that? - I make it > 500 MB in RGB
What format is it in?
What was the origin of the file? Digital camera? MF back? Scan from LF sheet film?

Are you really suggesting that only this resolution matters?

Whatever some might claim, you cannot upsize an image and add information.  Bloating a file (from a D10 for instance) just to make it big enough to print at 40-inches wide (360 dpi) seems a pretty dumb step all things considered.

The only caveat I would add would be if the output devices inbuilt resizing algorithms were crap (so you preferred to trust PS).  But if the original file does not contain the detail - no workflow can fill it out ... can it.
