at a price of nothing and given it _correctly_ thumbnails images and is 400 times fater than PS for many tasks and given that it also outrated both CS and genuine fractals at upsizing and it's only 1Mb and it batch processes raws ..I'm amazed this isn't the worlds most popular image manipulation program Karl The problem is that it's free - how is that going to increase it's popularity among serious professionals. Apart from undermining capitalism, freeware removes the thrill arising from "the retail therapy fix". There's also not the same buzz (kudos) in "version dropping" (like name dropping but whenever talking about PhotoShop you remeber to add "CS" to let people know you have the latest ... With IrfanView upgrades are free so the ability to brag is diminished ....even the "professional" registration for IrfanView (remeber, it's not freeware really) is only 10 dollars - hardly enough to discourage the masses .... People want to spend money for a good product. Getting a great product for free is really, really not the same thing Karl. Shame on you.
