Thanks for your replies and assistance. Later in the summer when we get our itinerary nailed down a little better I will get in touch with you for some places we should not miss. Of course, if you want to suggest some now, it might help our planning.

Hi,
Pamukkale is a nice place, although I have not been there for some time, I know that there is some problem with overuse of this water, so now there has been some efforts to control the overuse. There are lots of hotels etc where you can see the water and bathe too.
Being Turkish, and living in Turkey I can maybe help you about your questions for which places to visit, etc. if you plan to come over. Bear in mind, Turkey is a big country and it is not easy to see everything in a short time.

Don,
The place you're looking for is Pamukkale--Google it for a preview. I was there as a child when my father was stationed in Turkey. It used to be that you could bathe and swim in the hot pools, which grew gradually cooler as you approached the side of the mountain. I don't know if this practice is still allowed, but the sight of this place is certainly memorable. There are ruins, including an amphitheater, nearby.
Another must-visit in Cappadocia is Goreme and the Fairy Chimneys.
Cheers, Rich
