Re: [lens] JPEG vs GIF vs PNG

PNG is a net standard and very suitable for photos or graphics.
See http://www.devx.com/projectcool/Article/19997/0/page/3 and
http://www.libpng.org/pub/png/

You should resize your TIFFs, PNGs or JPGs to fit the size you will
use to display them. Resizing is always best done in a photo editor
rather than presentation software or, much worse, in the projector.
Always use the projector's native resolution for best results.

The other suggestion, to replace the JPEGs after the presentation is
completed is also good. Plain copies of the PPT won't affect the
quality.

BMP works well, but is huge. There are some versions of BMP that do
some compression but aren't as well supported.

I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too
much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.
