Thanks for that: it does explain a couple of things useful.


1) PS can *only* cope with 2GB of RAM!!!!!
That's influenced my decision on a new PC.  I was gonna go for 3GB (3x
expensive 1Gb DDR).  Instead I'll stick to 2Gb (4x cheap 512mb DDR)


2) PS now handles 16-bit images.
(Mmmmm ..../ my PS 5.0 still only handles 15-bit images!!!!!!!)
Even loading a 16-bit TIFF and resaving it as another 16-bit TIFF has
lost information!
