Alas! Poor r.

He must know so VERY few people.

Actually the 10D is a GREAT camera, probably (although arguably) the best
digital camera body under $3000. A few do have focus problems, but the vast
majority do not, and those that do have the problem are correctable.

The 1Ds, of course, is much better in many ways. The weatherproofing is
better, the focus is faster and set to a tighter tolerance, it has a HUGE
sensor capable of rendering images in the medium format class, it has a much
longer-lived shutter, etc. The 1Ds is a pro camera because of its speed and
built-in reliability and ruggedness. But it does have a HUGE price also. If
I made my living with a camera (especially if I shot sports), the 1Ds would
be my only choice.

I am a mere student of photography, and I love my 10D.

And everyone I know that has a 10D concurs with my opinion.

As an aside, if anyone is unhappy with their 10D and wants to sell it, let
me know. Since you are unhappy, it won't be worth much, but I will be glad
to take it off your hands for a couple of hundred USD. :-)
