According to this report Nikon is getting out of the "legacy camera" business (i.e. film cameras).

Actually the report seems to say the opposite...........
------start quote----
"The Japanese camera company Nikon has denied a Tokyo news report that it was going to shut down domestic production of 35mm film compact cameras and focus on digital camera sales. "
------end quote-----
There are other stories and links, however, that should give the list digi-phobics apoplexy. Such as that by 2008 digital will out sell legacy, and Ritz announces a one use digital at a price comparable to film throw away cameras.
