I can't understand why anybody avoids the use of raw files - unless they are only taking holiday snaps - IMO ;o) I am shooting Super High Quality Jpeg. Why....................... Because if I shoot using Tiff it takes forever to write a file and to tell you the truth I just haven't gotten around to playing with Raw files yet. Also.................... I have found that Super High Quality Jpegs at a 1/2.7 compression give me a 2.2mgb file. I am printing 8x10's with very little cropping. I get great looking prints................. Remember...I am Theatrical Photographer and 8x10's are the standard size that I am usually asked for. There is a great article about Jay Maisel in the Premier Issue of Digital Photo Pro............................ He has some good insight on shooting Jpegs over Tiff or Raw. He is quite happy with the quality he gets capturing images with High Quality Jpegs. I am not trying to start a debate here........................... Do what works best for you......................... I seem to remember that when I first got the camera(Olympus E-10) I had the same problem with using the Auto White Balance with Studio Lights. I guess I need to remember to set it for 6500k. It makes me wonder though.................... If the modeling lights are affecting the balance. If I shoot a white card to get a custom white balance would they affect that also? I guess to be safe I would have to turn off the modeling lights before I set up to take the exposure. Robert G. Earnast asked to see some of the photos. I sent him an example.................... Waiting for a reply................. Russ R.E. Baker Photography rebphoto@pronetisp.net
