Hi Andy:

   Lots of suggestions on this thread. Take a look at the
Olympus C-4000. 4 megapixels and every creative control you can
think of, including manual exposure. Exposure adjustments in 1/3
stop increments. About $350 at B&H; probably cheaper elsewhere.
No RAW and Smart Media cards only but I doubt that will be an
issue.
  You're almost certainly going to have to teach the teachers
how to use whatever camera you suggest. Or someone will. And I
guarantee it will be a struggle. I speak from experience.
