Jim, Thanks for the suggestion to look at a D30. If it were for me that would probably be what I would do ... look for used. But my interest is to recommend a camera that high school and elementary teachers can buy off the shelf with a minimum of fuss that will allow them to use the camera to teach certain science topics related to a variety of measurements based on the exposure time set on a camera. The camera as a stopwatch and recorder so to speak. cheers, andy
