Porn has been "in" metropolitan US art circles since about 2000, when many trendoid galleries in NYC began showing it. The trend's currently petering out (pun intended). A lot of "decent" people have "discovered" porn now that they can access it via the web, without having to frequent the stores for "those" magazines and associate with "those" people, creating a new class of porno viewer/addict who distances himself from the caricatured sleazoid-in-a-raincoat stereotype of yesteryear. From what one reads, porno is the main personal use of broadband these days, and by far the most successful web business. I have a feeling that a lot of carpal tunnel syndrome cases are not due to keystrokes.... Many famous photographers have done real porno as art (yeah, "real" art), notably Ralph Gibson & Helmut Newton. --- Luis
