Hey Charles........Don and Bill......are both correct
......depending on which flash the camera
used............

>From the vintage camera's manual at:

    http://jsurp.tripod.com/bhmanual.htm

"Flash pictures are as easy to make as those in bright
sun. just add a Kodalite Flasholder - either of two
models can be used with your Brownie Hawkeye Camera,
Flash Model.

The Kodalite Flasholder uses the larger bayonet-base
lamps such as No. 5 or 25. This unit gives more light
-and is especially recommended for Kodacolor pictures
The Kodalite Midget Flasholder is a compact unit which
uses small, low-priced M-2 lamps or No. 5 and No. 25
lamps."
