The
first time I went to a life drawing class I had a strong positive
reaction. This passed in 30 seconds, now I regard it as normal and do not
react any more. However if I get in to a chat-up situation my response is
much the same as for a fully clothed person.
I find
male nudes a little aggressive (I'm male), females quite relaxing. The
life drawing class is exceptionally quiet.
Photography - likewise but I've not done many. Only
two.
Nudism
is a con, men respond to images of the nude because its only a picture, not
a person. I believe men who have sexual problems may be treated by life
drawing under controlled conditions. Wives have similar
properties.

-----Original Message-----I remember reading a psychology article when I was in grad school that tested male and female reactions to a large variety of what were assumed to be "pleasant" and "unpleasant" photos of different subjects and scenes, some of which were nude or semi-nude attractive women and men. As I recall, "Interest" was gauged by the extent of dilation of the pupils. "Repulsion" was gauged by the constriction of the pupils. When men viewed nude women, their pupils dilated a great deal. When women viewed nude men their pupils did not dilate. That study was done a long time ago; therefore, if repeated today, the results might be different.

Quite frankly, I'm not interested in photographing nude women. I don't find the female body all that attractive, but then I am one. So the questions more to the point would be, do female photographers find the male body unattractive? Are male models on the whole more shy? Are men the ones who perpetrate the idea that a woman cannot resist a man in the nude? Or do men think the male body is less attractive and therefore hinder nude male photography?
Personally, I'd be too afraid of what negative things might be said about my reputation, not to mention the fact that my husband would never allow it. : -)

So... how do we overcome this taboo and become able to work as true

at all? - I'm not sure.

- In answer to the above...guys, you're missing the point...a woman's body is far more attractive and interesting than a man's body...we have more curves...
