They were pictures taken by Nicholas Nixon of his wife Bebe and her sisters. He is a Master of 8x10 fine art portraiture and documentary work. These end up being much more than a record, speaking volumes about family, relationships, the course of a human life and much more. I strongly advise anyone who has the opportunity, to see the prints in person. These contact prints are exquisite, sensual, lush images in a sequential portrait, a rarity in this day and age.

Many years ago I came across a photo in a photo magazine that has stuck in my mind but I can't recall who shot it. It was an array of smaller photos taken of 4 sisters shot every year for "the record".
