The manipulation was harmless--the photo itself showed a soldier commanding unarmed civilians--not a pretty picture, and certainly not in keeping with the "Operation Iraqi Freedom" line the government's sponsoring. Didn't anyone notice the photo of the victim of the hospital bombing and the Red Cross' call to stop these atrocities? As far as I can tell that shot wasn't a photo manipulation--but if it was maybe the photographer should be fired!

Maybe you missed what the photo was about:
"The primary subject of the photo was a British soldier directing Iraqi civilians to take cover from Iraqi fire on the outskirts of Basra."
Should he have let them stand up and get shot?
