Greg, Not in the chicks but the adults learn how to avoid the invisible beam of light so that they don't trip the camera (and flash) on their approach so then I have to relocate the beam and camera. Another approach I have taken is to turn the system off for a while. Birds don't seem to remember so well. Maybe that is how the term "bird brain" was coined. During lightning stroms I have seen dazed and confused birds flying every which way and as far as droppings ... the nests are in the barn usually over a horse. The horse has learned to not align himself under the nest! andy
