This is a very wide open question. I suggest you go to your book store or Amazon.com and get Michael Covington's "Astrophotogpraphy for the Amateur". There is a lot of math in it, but he also keeps things simple. Its a good guide to show you what you can do with an unguided camera and what it takes to guide a camera.
