Hi, I lived in DC until 1 1/2 years ago. Locally I used Embassy Photo near DuPont Circle. For a real selection of film, there was a place off Connecticut Avenue about 5 miles north into Maryland. It was called PhotPro, I think, and they were nice guys. For any real variety, I used to use Calumet Photo in Illinois. Locally in DC, trying to find sheetfilm or a #22 filter in 72mm, or anything other than disposables or point'n'shoot was either hideously expensive or almost akin to trying to unearth the pharaoh.s tomb. DC isn't exactly a hub of photo techies. Service Photo in Baltimore was pretty decent, but at 40 miles distant in DC traffic, it might as well have been on the dark side of the moon. You just don't drop in from DC! Hope this helps a bit.
