I'm glad to inform on completion of implementation of the SART system in one of Polish banks. The SART (System for Transaction Registry and Analysis) is a Anti-money laundering (AML) system, used in data-gathering and advanced analysis of bank transactions (including cash-flow chains), in terms of the prevention of the use of the financial system for the purpose of money laundering and terrorist financing (EU directive implementation: 2005/60/EC - called also as the "Third EU Money Laundering Directive"). The SART system based on Analytical SQL Server which in turn is based on PostgreSQL server as the DBMS backend. This information may be also important for PostgreSQL community, because it says about using PostgreSQL server as a production VLDB DBMS and OLAP Data Warehouse server in banking. More information about SART and Analytical SQL Server you can find on this website: http://www.analyticsql.org/ On this page: http://www.analyticsql.org/documentation.html you can also find publications on a number of important technological aspects of aforementioned implementation of SART in bank. These publications were created as case studies and are related to my PhD study.
