CREATE DOMAIN with referential integrity

HI all.
Is there a way to CREATE a DOMAIN in v8.3 with a CHECK() predicate to ensure the value is in a dictionary table?
Of course, I already know the trivial and ugly solution with a (PL/Pg)SQL lookup function.
